My name is Xavier Mickens, but most people call me Xae. I’m in my senior year as a psychology major at the University of Houston in Houston, TX. Writing is my number one passion, only second to stuffing my face with food whenever I get a chance. I write various genres of literature, but my focus lies in poetry and playwriting. I perform stand-up comedy and have participated in various poetry slams. My primary goal with my work is to spread the story of the Black struggle and express the love I have for those around me.
