Toi Witcher

Sensory Meets Science

I am Toi Witcher and I am from Upper Marlboro, MD. I am a special education teacher and I teach preschool autism. I graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and I received my graduate degree from George Mason with a Masters of Science in Educational Psychology. I have always had a passion for teaching and mentoring children. I love working with students with disabilities and learning from my students while watching them grow. In my undergraduate program I learned so much about the importance of sensory stimulation for children and recreation at all times. As a previous Camp Director with Parks and Recreation I know that keeping students involved and active throughout the summer months is very important. As a youth and young adult leader at Little David Baptist Church and co-chair of the College Admission Process (#CAPsm) committee of Iota Gamma Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated I strive to serve youth in my community and take the time to mentor as much as I can.
