Taking Up Space

Adriana Salazar is a closeted poet, budding organizer, and UH student. She is the Open Mic Director for CoogSlam, UH’s inaugural and sole poetry community, and holds CoogSlam’s community as the largest part of her heart. She is also a part of the core leadership team for Mutual Aid Houston- a BIPOC led collective centered on boosting mutual aid efforts in the Houston area. Her primary (and by primary, she means One and Only) goal is to create spaces of bravery, safety, education, and creation that will allow all those involved to grow.
